Namaste Nepal

Namaste Nepal is a photojournalistic exhibition by Aline Tong documenting the work of the association Namaste Nepal, a humanitarian initiative supporting communities in Nepal following the 2015 earthquake.

The series was created in the village of Namkeli, where Aline photographed everyday life within the local school and surrounding community. The focus is on simple, lived moments — children in their learning environment, daily interactions, and the people that the association works alongside and supports.

Rather than portraying the aftermath of a disaster, the project aims to offer a more intimate and grounded perspective on the community itself. It introduces the individuals behind the association’s mission, highlighting daily life, connection, and continuity.

The exhibition was presented between 2017 and 2018 at the Forum des Halles in Louvain-la-Neuve and at Quatre Quarts in Court-Saint-Étienne.
