Magasine Biomimetics

Biomimetics is a photojournalistic group project developed as part of the BBBOOK Science edition published by IHECS.

The project explores biomimetics — the study of nature’s forms, processes, and systems as inspiration for human innovation. Rather than approaching the subject purely from a scientific perspective, the team sought to translate complex ideas into a visual narrative, making the connection between nature and technology more accessible and tangible.

Through a documentary approach, the series highlights how observation of the natural world can lead to creative and technological solutions, revealing the subtle intelligence found in biological structures and ecosystems.

The project was developed and co-created with Juliette Heymans in 2016.
